Krabi & Ao Nang, beautiful cliffs and dream beaches

Krabi is in a great geographical location to reach many of the best beaches in Thailand, either taking a day trip or for an overnight stay.
There is an airport near the coast so that you can literally fly in the morning and be down at the beach in the afternoon, making it a popular destination.

Ao Nang is the coastal town near Krabi in the Andaman Sea.

By train

You can take a bus to transfer to Krabi from the nearest train stations in Surat Thani and Trang.

By bus

Krabi
There are buses from Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal to Krabi.
It takes roughly 10 hours.

There are minibuses and minivan from Krabi city to Ao Nang Beach.

You can stay in Krabi town, but we recommend you book the hotel in Ao Nang.

Ao Nang’s main street runs parallel to the beach and has local travel agencies, shops, health services, all types of accommodation and restaurants.

Phra Nang Beach, short boat trip from Ao Nang

From the Ao Nang beach, you can take numerous boat trips to several of the prettiest beaches in the country. Some of them are only 15 minutes away, like Railay and Phra Nang.

Numerous long-tail boats that go back and forth all day as soon as they fill up with passengers.

On the other hand for day trips southwards to the splendid islands of Poda, Chicken, Tub and Phi Phi, and northwards to the Hong island.

Hong Island, a longer boat trip from Ao Nang

The rocky cliffs along the coast of the Andaman Sea are the perfect backdrop for the attractive landscape in this area and also provide an ideal opportunity for rock climbing enthusiasts to pursue their favourite sport.

There are also plenty of activities at the beaches: canoeing, snorkelling, scuba diving as well as enjoying a swim in delightfully transparent water.

Other excursions within the interior of the Krabi coast are:

The rainy season begins in April and ends in November. February is the driest month.
