First of all, if your stay will be 2 or 3 or someday more, you have to take into account how you are going to get around the city.
If you are going to do so by taxi, tuk-tuk or with a private vehicle, the only recommendation is that the hotel is not far from the tourist areas shown on the map.
In the case of using the collective public transport, which is highly recommended, besides it should be located as close as possible to the MRT subway network, BTS Skytrain or the piers on the Chao Phraya River (see Getting around Bangkok, enjoythailand.fun).
Traffic in Bangkok is not fluid and the warm humid weather penalizes the effort of outdoor transfers, especially in the central hours of the day.
For a one night trip, bear in mind the airport where you will arrive and depart from the city, and the sites to visit during your quick visit. Depending on your schedule, it will have to be close to the airport or to the area where you will spend your time.
In Bangkok, think about the possibility of coming back to the hotel at noon, to enjoy a repairing nap or just recover in the swimming pool or play in the room with air conditioning for a while. In case you think it’s a good idea, keep this in mind when choosing your hotel, this is the right time.
