This archipelago in the Andaman Sea is a marvel of nature.
The two largest islands are called Koh Phi Phi Don and Koh Phi Phi Leh, the former being the only inhabited one. Access is usually made by boat from the island of Phuket and through Krabi-Ao Nang on the mainland coast, it is also possible from other islands in the Andaman Sea.

The beauty of the steep cliffs makes the islands a veritable tropical paradise.

Tourist infrastructure has grown in recent years, and the Bay of Koh Phi Phi Don caters for all budgets with all the amenities you could expect. Obviously, there are variations between the different seasons of the year.

Maritime links
» Tiger Line Ferry
» Phuket Ferry
» Chaokoh Group
» Phi Phi Ferry
From May to October, maritime links reduce the frequency.

There are many interesting places for excursions from the port of Koh Phi Phi Don. You can explore the various islands at your own pace to see what you can find or go snorkelling/diving or visit the famous Maya and Piley Bays on Koh Phi Phi Leh.

It is an exceptional place where you can mingle and have fun with travellers from all corners of the world.
Partying goes on late into the night – bear that in mind when looking for accommodation.

Maritime excursions
There are three types of boats.
» Long-tail boats, the traditional vessel, with several sizes. Pretty but a little less comfortable. Faster than the ship.
» Speedboats, more expensive, but the first to arrive.
» Ships, the largest boats, offer a good price. You travel slower but are covered, better protected. Keep in mind that they can add more than 100 passengers together.

Whenever possible and convenient, we recommend hiring a long-tail boat in a private group and getting up earlier than other visitors, in order to fully enjoy the excursions.
